That will work with those same files that the native Plex app won't work with. If your other HEVC files will direct play on Plex but certain HEVC video won't play, there are a few things to consider: 1. Here are the most important requirements for the Plex client when streaming 4K content. Recently got a 4k OLED and then a Shield Pro (because the newer chromecast wasn't able to direct play everything) and then I setup my server and shield to be over ethernet because I was having issues with some higher bitrate media but I'm still seeing issues irregularly. For me, the Plex App on Apple TV will direct play everything except TrueHD audio. I don’t see any option in the Xbox emby theatre client to select audio options in config like the desktop ET client has. The frustrating part is that I can find plenty of things on Google but they are all about problems with transcoding. The GPU for Plex transcoding has some limitations. 265 like Kodi can, or if it will still have the Plex limitations. If the media consists of codecs that the Xbox supports, it will play directly. If you haven't created an account yet, now's a good time to do so. You'll find virtually all the same options there as you have when looking at the settings for an individual episode or movie.
